Game of Week 7

Week 7 starts with the same assumed teams claiming their 1st Round spots in the twenty-ten post season, and a few teams who never seen what was coming.

The usual suspects in this years playoffs? WW South, St. Rita, Crystal Lake South, Wilmington and Joliet Catholic, to name a few.

The unusual suspects hanging up their pads before November? The Providence Celtics.

A big fan of The Three "S's": Senn, Simeon and Stevenson.

Minooka goes to Plainfield North at 7 p.m. Friday. This will be a test for the Indian 'D' and at the same time, a test for new state record holder Kapri Bibbs. The Tigers have scored 212 points this season, 206 with Bibbs on the field, an average of 35.3 points a game. Minooka has held their opponents to 112 points going into Week 7, that's just 16 points per game. The Indians have scored 226 points, 37.6 per game, while Plainfield North has allowed just 94, 15.6 a game. This one, boys and girls, is gonna be a barn burner.

Big News: Week 6

(14)Vernon Hills
6 weeks in to the twenty-ten season and the boys over in the hills have yet to let an opponent score a single point. 290-0, kids. A new Monsters of the Midway? Is there even a midway in Vernon Hills? I have no idea, but will be keeping my eyes open for Week 7 when they bust heads with Grant this Friday.

Providence
The last time the Celtics didn't reach the playoffs, was 20-years ago. Twenty straight seasons of getting to play extra football. Not this year. fenwick helped put a stop to that streak Saturday with their 17-7 win. Start again next year Celtics.

Kapri Bibbs
The running back outta Plainfield North rushed for a new state-record 520-yards. He also scored 35 points (that's 7 touchdowns). If you do the math correctly, which I'm probably not, Bibbs scored 1.11 repeating on each of his 39 carries. (Feel free to check the math.)

*Like I have already said, my math was going to probably be wrong. Today, after looking at the post again, I realized that it was indeed wrong. Bibbs scored .8974359 points per carry.

Joliet West
For the first time since the last time, Joliet West picked up a victory as a one school team 32-8 against Joliet Central. Since 1992(?) West and Joliet Central had a team combined of both of the cities Public High Schools. If I remember correctly, the West-Central game each season was one to watch out for. Maybe not because each team was crazy good, but because the fans from West, and the fans from Central, felt they were the better team in town and resembled the parking lot of Soldiers Field on a Sunday in December when the Bears were playing the Packers. This game, and after party, usually got pretty outta control.

I think that sums it up.
