Can You Smell It?

The smell of popcorn, dirt, sweat and tears are tickling the nostrils of many these days because one of the most glorious seasons of the year is quickly approaching, boys and girls. No, no, no, I'm not writing about the Autumn or Winter months. The season I write about this afternoon is...

ILLINOIS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL SEASON!!!

A child, mathematically, might have been conceived and born since the last time two IHSA football teams squared off for a state championship. Two semesters of college may have passed. The Cubs may have thrown another season down the drain. Starting August 27, it's a fresh start for all.

Though I feel it much too early for predictions on who will win the Championships this season, I'm still looking forward to the date just 3 weeks away.

Here's hoping all players, coaches and teams are ready to knock heads. Also, wishes for clean play and the health of all involved are extended. Good luck boys. Have fun.

Football pushed to next year.

The 2009 season has ended. The Champions have been crowned. And that long wait for next year begins. See you next August.

How Round 2 will go down

That guy over there thinks that that team will win this weekend. Him over there, he feels there is no chance of his team losing Saturday afternoon.
